Khloé Kardashian may have met her match.
As detailed in a lengthy ESPN feature on Tristan Thompson, the Cavaliers front office was concerned when Thompson started dating the reality megastar last August.
It’s unclear if LeBron James, who is close with Thompson and lobbied hard for the 26-year-old center’s five-year, $82 million deal, was among those concerned. James is known for hating distractions like the one Kardashian, 32, has the potential to bring and for subtweeting his teammates if something is on his mind.
But as the Cavs prepare to take on the Warriors for the third time in three years in the NBA Finals beginning Thursday, the team’s brass is convinced Kardashian has not been a detriment to Thompson or the team he helped carry this far.
Kardashian has become something of a presence at Quicken Loans Arena — she shared up a storm at the Cavs’ elaborate ring ceremony at the start of the season — and it’s expected she will be in attendance when the series shifts back to Cleveland next week for Game 3.

Friends say Kardashian isn’t even the one responsible for Thompson’s expensive fashion choices.
“He was always doing that,” said Thompson’s University of Texas teammate, Jai Lucas. “Now it’s Gucci. Back in college, it was H&M or maybe Zara.”
Kardashian has a tumultuous relationship history with NBA players that might have informed the Cavaliers’ concerns.
Her whirlwind romance with Lamar Odom, the troubled former Los Angeles Lakers star, came to an end in 2013 after a turbulent four years of marriage. She dated Houston Rockets star James Harden in 2015 as Harden endured a thoroughly mediocre season and the team plunged in the standings. Following their breakup last February, Harden complained he was uncomfortable with all the attention he received during their time together.
Most recently, former lottery pick Rashad McCants, whom Kardashian dated in 2009, blamed the perceptions around the high-profile pairing for costing him millions in potential earnings and derailing his NBA career.
