Chanel Métiers D’Art 2018

On Saturday afternoon, Cara Delevingne closed Burberry's Fall 2018 runway show at London Fashion Week wearing a rainbow-colored coat, as part of the brand's tribute to LGBTQ youth.

It was the first time that Delevingne walked in a fashion show since 2016, when she appeared in the Chanel Métiers D'Art show alongside Soo Joo Park, Natalie Westling, and Lily-Rose Depp. But this was a special occasion: Burberry Creative Director Christopher Bailey's last collection for the legendary British fashion house. Bailey and Delevingne have a unique relationship; the designer cast the model in her first runway show in 2011. Since then, she's been a loyal face of the fashion house, walking in shows until moving to the front row, and appearing in many of the Burberry's ad campaigns alongside the likes of Kate Moss, Eddie Redmayne, Jourdan Dunn, Suki Waterhouse, and Matt Smith.

In 2015, Delevingne announced that she would be taking a step back from modeling. “I am not doing fashion work any more, after having, like, psoriasis and all that stuff,” she told >The Times. “Modelling just made me feel a bit hollow after a while. It didn’t make me grow at all as a human being. And I kind of forgot how young I was … I felt so old.”

Since then, the 25-year-old has been mostly focused on her other talents including acting (and has appeared in films like Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planet and Paper Towns, amongst others), writing (she published the young adult novel >Mirror, Mirror in 2017), and music (watch her first music video here). She's also become an empowering advocate for young women and the LGBTQ community, and has been outspoken about living with psoriasis, suffering from depression and suicidal thoughts as a teenager, and being sexually harassed by Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein.
